2012 FALL TV SHOW PREMIERES

FALL is one of my most favorite times of the year.
For my family, fall is the slowing down process.  I love sitting down with the hubs and watching "our shows". It's time spent together, not talking, not being busy but just sitting next to each other laughing over the tv. Show time is our time together after the kiddos go to bed and I wouldn't change it for the world.

About this time every year I get anxious about when the shows are going to start back and I am sure there are some of you who are itching to know as well so I'm going to post the links where you can find all the lineups for the fall. Plus I'm excited about some of the new ones that are starting.

Your One Stop Shop for all the FALL PREMIERES (if I have forgotten one let me know)

TUBBY TUESDAY

From now on Tuesdays are TUBBY TUESDAYS until one day when I can change it to TONED TUESDAY. I'm going to put it all out there for support for me and hopefully to motivate you all! We need to build us a support system here ya'll, so I'm reaching out to you!

This is what I seen when I got on the scale this morning

So I know it's not that bad and some of you are thinking "If I weighed 144 I'd be estatic". Well heres the deal, some ppl at this weight look phenomenal...me not so much. I'm not saying I'm a big fat tub of lard but I'm also not happy with how my body looks.

My ULTIMATE GOAL is 128...and that's going to be a rough one to get to but I think with alittle determination and support I can do it. I'm not good with setting long term goals and sticking to them. I prefer short term goals that I can make it to and feel like I have accomplished alittle somthing then move on to the next.

That being said here is my short term goal.

*Run the Color Me Rad Race in Knoxville, Oct 6th. I have already signed up for this so it's a must but I want to run the entire thing, not run/walk. If any of ya'll wanna come run or walk it please be my guest! We might even have to make up cute Sweet Southern T-Shirts!!

*Weigh 136 by Oct. 6th. That's 8lbs, alittle over a pound a week from not to then. I think that is managable if I work at it.

*Cut my sweet treats to one a week. Let's face it, I am a sucker for cake, brownies, ice cream, frosty's, slushies...you name it and I love it. Instead of cutting it all out cold turkey I am going to limit myself to 1 a week.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...I KNOW I CAN!!

MILF STATUS HERE I COME

Now this momma's gotta do some squats to get the party started!! Don't judge, Just move! ;)

~Mel

Food: 2 cups of coffee(don't judge), 1 banana
Exercise:
Calories burned if I know what they are:
Steps I've taken: WHERE'S MY DERN PEDOMETER?

I will update this tonight with what I have done for the day. Maybe this will keep me more accountable or maybe it will make you guys say "Quit eatin' that CRAP!"

AT LAST....My Love Has Come Along

Seeing my little brother dance with his beautiful wife this past Saturday was so heart warming. The simple yet elegance of the wedding was so them (him-simple, her-elegant). They didn't want a big fancy show, just them, close friends and family, food and some fun dance music. It really was the perfect night for them.

Now let's rewind a bit to the rehearsal. The Vineyard they got married at allowed them 1hr to rehearse. Friday night at 5pm. We were all there and ready to go, 5:03 the thunder rolled...and the lightning crashed! Literally, hail and everything. So for the first 30min we all stood under the front awning of the winery looking at each other. (why we weren't inside tasting it up I dunno?). Finally when we only had 25min left we made our way to the pavillion, where the reception would be, and done a mock ceremony there. Keeping it simple, we ran through it twice and pulled out with 1min to spare.

Wheew glad that was over because this came next...

Moving on to the next morning...

Nails-check
Travel back in time to Middle School while getting my nails and toes done- check check
(Oh yeah they were totally rocking out Mariah Carey- One sweet Day and Brandy- For You I Will in the salon)
Starbucks with one of the greatest ppl I know- Check
Over to Sis-In-Laws for getting my hair done- Check
Wear our SUPER CUTE matching shirts with our Init's on them-Heck YEAH
Daniels Vineyard, make-up, Bride forgot ring at house, sent BIL back to house to get it...yep that happened! lol She later told me not to tell groom because she had been on him all week long about how to NOT forget the ring! Guess it's a good thing he doesn't read blogs!

We are not big drinkers but I'm loving the mason jar glasses the brides momma made! Oh and we still don't know where the stick couple came from?

I'm such a proud big sister!

The wedding was a blast. Awesome food, visiting with family and friends, dancing and then a quick clean up!

So happy for them!!

They are now celebrating it up in ARUBA. I sincerely hope they enjoy themselves because oh if they only knew what lay ahead...I remember that glorious honeymoon, 7 yrs and 2 kids ago. Where did that beautiful couple go? One of these days we will find them again but for nowK-Man and L-Bugs momma and daddy we are!

PS I love my life very much and even with the trials I wouldn't change one single minute. Now go kiss your spouse and spread some wedding LOVE!

Tips & Tricks

So twice today I had major "Uh-Oh" moments.

The first came when I was writing down out weekly menu on my dry erase board beside the fridge. Hamburgers and Spaghetti into it I realized that I had not grabbed the dry erase marker but better yet, the handy dandy SHARPIE! My attempt to wipe it off real quick acting like I had never done it didn't work, dang it, it didn't even smudge! So I went to the most potent thing in my house.

All Purpose Cleaner WITH Bleach.

I don't particullary care to use this but while the hubs was home he did most of the cleaning and that was his cleaner of preference so I didn't say anything. I mean come on ladies your husband is cleaning your whole house, who cares what he uses!! I was just thankful I didn't have to!

Back to my fo-pah. I sprayed it with bleach, waited ummm about 3 second and started to rub. It smeared it but not even close to removing it. So if at first you don't suceed, try try again. I sprayed once more (and I mean I coated it down) and walked away for about 5 min. Came back and it rubbed right off!! Whew, I didn't not want to have to buy another board!

So ALL PURPOSE CLEANER WITH BLEACH WILL REMOVE SHARPIE FROM DRY ERASE!

Next "Uh-Oh" Moment...

K-Man starts Pre-K tomorrow. I can't believe how fast these past 4 yrs have flown by. Well in my attempt to be supermom again I have procrastinated myself into a pickle. Of course like every other mom in America has done this year I have a chalk board with Kinley's 1st Day of Pre-K & "I wanna Be a ____ when I grow up". Well I have one now...a few hours ago I was scrambling.

Once again the hubs has came to the rescue and was outside painting a picture with chalk board paint for me. We have a double sided easel so I was going to fix that up as a fall back plan incase the paint isn't dry in time. Well upon bringing up the easel I realized K-Man thought it would be a grand idea to write on the chalk board with a crayon! WHAAAA?!

I googled, tried the first thing I found and BAM it worked!!

BLOW DRY YOUR CHALKBOARD AND THEN WIPE

This was mid process, I forgot to take a pic at the beginning but you can see how much crayon was on there

TA DA!! All clean and like new!

Yep easy-peasy. Whoda thunk it? Def not me...I was contemplating using my nail to scrape it off.

Alrighty so both of my uh-oh moments turned out pretty good today. If only they all worked themselves out that smoothly.

I'll end with a picture of the hubs while he was working so hard on my chalk board! I'll show you finished product later!

Ok I lied, one more...seriously who has the cutest little girl eva?!

Mini Coupon trip

So I have been couponing for a while now. Some weeks I do awesome some weeks I just don't have the time. While I love to save money some days it just doesn't feel worth the headache.

There are certain staples that I always keep in the house. Spaghetti sauce is one of them and my family only eats Ragu. Love our Ragu!

During the winter months I do some freezer cooking which I'll share more with you in the future! Ziti, lasagna, chicken and spinach shells are all on that list if freezer foods to cook and all of these require spaghetti sauce.

Anytime a staple is on sale and has a coupon I'm there. So needless to say when Kroger had Ragu as part of there Mega Sale and there was a .40 off two coupon that would double I was pumped. I logged on eBay bought myself 20 coupons, for only $1.20 plus free shipping and off Krogering I went.

This is what all I got
16 jars Ragu
1 dozen eggs
8pack AA batteries (k-man had to have batteries for his leaps tee
1pack Huggies wipes
Two packs crayola toothbrushes
3 suave shampoos
1 suave deodorant
2 jello puddings
1 carnation instant breakfast powder
12 betty crocker cake mixes

Total:
$36.89

YES ( in my best Napoleon dynamite voice)

I have included a pic of my recipes just for sharing, sorry for the wrinkled paper but they've been wadded up in my purse...dont be acting yours ain't there too!
PS this is my first blog post from my phone so my apologies if it looks all jacked up! :)

Wedding Bells are Ringing

Well my baby brother is getting himself a wife this Saturday and I couldn't be more happy for them.

However what a week it has been. Between a sick baby girl, Kinley's last day of MDO and the yumminess that I made to thank all of his wonderful teachers and the staff at the MDO program, my husband getting a possible job offer (to be set in stone tomorrow, prayers are welcomed) and getting ready to travel it has been one hectic week. For those of you who do not know me personally here's a little history.

*Born and raised in Southern West Virginia
*Knew each other since we were little
*Never dated until college
*Fell madly in love with each other
*I got a wonderful job offer in Sevierville, TN
*We moved, got married and have now made a home here in TN.

As much as we bleed BLUE & GOLD we love our little community and home here and honestly can't imagine going back.

All that being said all of our family is in WV so we do a decent amount of traveling and I am blessed with parents who make a monthly trip to see my kiddos and their only grandbabies...for now.

That brings us back to the wedding. I made another delcious yumminess for the rehersal dinner tomorrow night. It was a recipe shared with me by a very dear friend and I am so excited to show you my first attempt at it. I am still learning at this whole decorating thing but I can see myself slowly getting better.

The cake is a chocolate peanut butter cake with chocolate buttercream icing...HELLO perfection. Let's just hope it makes it to WV in one piece. :)

Well that's it for now. Busy weekend ahead but will be back with a full wedding post next week. Oh and hoping to see more followers by then! I keep finding more and more awesome blogs and personal companies and I am ready to start with some giveaways!!

Happy Weekend!

Lil' Miss Sunshine

COFFEE...I <3 U!

Ok enough about that and on to the good stuff!!

I can't believe that this picture was taken a year ago. I remember that day oh so well...

Now it's time for L-Bugs 1st Birthday party!!

I have been planning this party since she was about 3 months old. It breaks my heart to see how fast time time went by and as wonderful as the party was, part of me was alittle sad because this in my last 1st birthday party. Two children is the perfect number for us, one boy, one girl...done.

I wanted to do something different and after many hours of pinterest searching I decided that nothing fit her better than being my lil sunshine. She lights up my world day after day so this was the perfect party for her!

It's wouldn't be a Cobb party without the fruit pizza...it gets demolished everytime!

The waterslide was a present for both kiddos from the hubby and I, and both grandparents. It has served for many hours of entertainment and a great way to wear the kiddos out if we want them to go to bed early ;)

All of my printables were made for me by Lillian Hope Designs, she was so easy to work with and brought what I had envisioned for Lanies party to life on paper. Not to mention the ADORABLE invitation she created just for me!! Be sure to check out her etsy store here and become a fan on facebook for 10% off your order and then subscribe to her blog here for another 10% off your order. That's a total of 20% off!!

My daddy and L-Bug

Look at thos sweet faces!!

 Lanie's first year in pictures

I love these 1's cut out of vinyl and put on the cups, then I got these super cute straws that matched her party colors perfect from Shop Sweet Lulu...LOVE THIS PLACE

This was my first attempt at a professionally made cake. Not the prettiest but not terrible however it tasted exactly like wedding cake and was delicious so that's all that mattered! One of these days she will look back and see the thought and hard work (6 hours to be exact) that I put into her cake!

Lovin' some presents

A Pretty Crapper...it is what it is

Sheeew what a weekend! I started a post on Saturday then got sidetracked and it still sits in the draft department of blogger...hmmm it'd seem kinda silly to post it today since it was from three days ago which seems like an eternity!!

I'll just do a short recap of my weekend before I get into my bathroom overhaul!

Friday- Crap...I seriously don't remember friday

Saturday AM- Crossfit (for the first time) it was awful, I left feeling like I was going to puke...excellant workout! I seriously can't believe my body did that and I'm super pumped to doing it again...in a few weeks after I can walk up the stairs without wincing with pain!

Saturday PM- Motorboatin' on Miss Mel...oh yeah my hubby loves me (it does help though that the boats original name was Miss Melody and he just scrapped on the ODY) but hey his boat is named after me...true love <---insert googly eyes here
My babies livin' it up in the tube

Sunday-Another wonderful church service, Pink Glove Dance at Worlds Fair Park (more to come on that)

Sunday- L-Bug starts running a fever, that's when Sunday and Monday just run together
We all know a sick baby means no sleep for both mommy and baby but I think we are on track to getting better (after bloodwork, cath, toe stick, chest X-Ray and a shot of rocephin)

Like I said SHEEEWWW

Now onto my bathroom overhaul!

I have been wanting to do this for sometime now and go figure the mood hit me to do it the same week as L-Bugs first birthday party...that will never happen again. What was I thinking I could plan a party and redo a bathroom! Def not my most genius idea but we finally finished it and I am ready to share!

I don't have the best before pics because I forgot to take pics until everything was down and I was trimming but here is an idea.

Oh and that awful Light fixture HAD TO GO!

Now the finished project and I must say it turned out even better then it looked in my mind!

Found a new light fixture on the Seymour Yard Sale page on Facebook
 (second best thing to pinterest)
Redid the mirror with mini tiles to give it a nice frame for a whole lot cheaper
It was super easy using just small tile pieces and silicone glue
Here's that tutorial

I put a new shelf from my other bathroom and added two mini trifle glass that came from Wal-Mart to hold cotton balls and Q-Tips
I had bought the Paradise sign a couple years ago when I envisioned this bathroom
The milk glass came from my soon-to-be SIL bridal shower

My second favorite item of the new bathroom is my Towel Holder/Wine rack
Yay for more space under my cabinets now!
Plus it looks all fancy shmancy ;)

I had this awful basket that sat on the floor beside the toilet to hold my dryer and straightener, it just looked awful so I bought this toilet paper holder at Walmart too and stuck it to the side of the cabinet with some Command hooks (once again thank you pinterest)

Now myst last and most fave part! In the old bathroom I had a basket on the back of the toilet that collected everything, make-up, hair brushes, hairbows, cream, you name it and it could be found in the basket. Well sinced my towels are on the wall my hubby built me this nifty shelf system (thank you hubby). All of my stuff is now organized and hid away!!
Thank you Pretty Handy Girl for this wonderful tutorial

That is our new bathroom and it is so wonderful. Now onto dreaming up my next project...BEDROOM OVERHAUL!!

Here's a sneak peek at the my Lil bug's First Birthday party...more on that soon!

Have a great week ya'll!!

H2...Ohh no

Aren't we always told to take things "One Day at a Time"? Well that's how I'm going to do this weight loss thing but I have a feeling that my impateint side will take over about a week into it and I will turn into crazy workout women only to get close to where I want to be then get bored and stop...oh the story of my life.

I'm starting my weightloss kick  with the one thing you will read and see everywhere... DRINK MORE WATER! UUGGHHHHH Do I have to? <--insert whiny voice and eye rolling-->
I really dislike drinking water, it doesn't quinch my thirst, it doesn't make me feel less hungry. It only makes me have to run to the bathroom every 5min and pee for what seems like an eternity. Once again, DO I HAVE TO?! (yes I am using shouty caps cause it makes me feel better)

Well on my way to work today I was thinking about how to get myself to remember to drink water during the day and my mind wondered to a time of purusing Pinterest, oh have I told you how much I love Pinterest? It is the bomb to my diggity and cup to my cake. I seen a post on how this girl wrote the hours of the day on her water bottle. This was a way to keep reminding her of how much water she needs to consume on a daily basis.

My first thought was "Ooops, I don't have a water bottle with me so I guess I'll just have to wait til tomorrow to start" but then the inner skinny girl started screaming "tomorrow will never come"! So once I got to work and fixed my morning coffee I got to thinking and this is what I came up with.

Oh yeah totally rednecked I know and trust me I was singing "Red solo cup...I fill you Up" the whole time I was fixin' up my water cup.

I wrote every two hours so that I would know exactly how much I needed to drink. Maybe one day I will do every hour on the cup to get twice the amount in or who knows I might just fill it up with some good ole' sweet tea

So this is me saying get your water on and make yourself a special cup cause it really does work! I am actually 1 full cup ahead of where I should be...YAY ME!

And for the record I have pee'd a blue bazillion times today!

Who ME?!

I am a full time working momma who works even harder at home. I am a Christan and serve an Ah-MAZ-ING Lord who you will hear more about. I am a WIFE to a magnificent husband, MOTHER to two beautiful babies, K-Man and L-Bug, DAUGHTER to two of the most loving parents a girl could ask for a BIG SISTER to the little boy who I still try to protect(even though he is three times the size of me). My life up to this point has been a rollercoaster that I have loved every second of.  I guess its a good thing I'm a coaster junkie! I am continuously trying new ventures, taking on more than I should and plannig andhaving parties...yeah I'm a party girl (not the drunk kind though).
It seems every few months I take on something new, whether it's crafting, selling something, cake baking or even blogging! I want to share my experiences so you can learn from the good and the bad. So my family can keep up with my craziness and so I can have a place to keep some of those moments that I never want to forget. I am also about the run (well maybe walk/jog) my way into small pants so you can follow that journey too!
This is a diary that I am sharing with you so please leave me your comments. If there is anything I talk about that you would like me to go more in depth on or jsut something you're curious about. I'd love to hear from each of you!

Oh and maybe if we get enough followers we can do some giveaways cause we all know I love to enter giveaways and I have some pretty awesome creative friends to highlight!!
